GLOO POWERED HOMEPOD DEVICE
SHOWCASED AT INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM

Intel* NMPR Validated GlooLabs Middleware
Brings Convergence to the Digital Home

Palo Alto, CA, September 7, 2004 - GlooLabs today announced that the HomePod™ Network Music Player running its GLOO middleware technology will be featured at the Fall 2004 Intel Developer Forum being held Sept. 7-9 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco. The HomePod will be showcased in the Digital Home Community exhibition located in the Technology Showcase as well as in the Digital Home Product Display area.

GlooLabs' software technology allows digital media stored on a computer or media server to be accessed through any GLOO-enabled hardware device on the network. GLOO binds together software, hardware and services providing a flexible, powerful, environment that gives hardware manufacturers rapid entry into the digital convergence market. The GLOO middleware platform has received Intel* Networked Media Product Requirements (Intel* NMPR) Validation for Media Server Control Points allowing it to seamlessly communicate with other UPnP AV media devices.

The first product to incorporate GLOO is the award-winning HomePod™, by MacSense Connectivity (www.macsense.com). HomePod is a network audio player that allows users to enjoy their own music and Internet radio from anywhere in the house. The HomePod has also received Intel NMPR Validation for Media Server Control Points allowing it to play content from any software application supporting the UPnP AV standard, such as MusicMatch Jukebox. HomePod awards include: Popular Mechanics CES Editor's Choice, COMDEX Best of Show Finalist, and ElectronicaUSA Best of Show for Consumer Electronics Devices. The HomePod was also selected as the featured hardware device at the 2004 JavaOne Conference in San Francisco.

"We are excited that HomePod will be featured at the Fall Intel Developer Forum as a device that demonstrates the future of the digital home," said David Arfin, CEO of GlooLabs. "By setting development guidelines for interoperability between digital media devices and PCs, our GLOO technology is poised to be part of the next generation of multimedia distribution products for the digital home."

GlooLabs has also established an active developer community around its GLOO technology. Developers interested in modifying GLOO or the functionality of the HomePod, can download the GLOO source code and develop new features, modify UI, and create new applications. The GLOO source code and GLOO SDK can be downloaded at http://developer.gloolabs.com/.

"We are very excited to bring GLOO to the Intel developer community," said Arfin. "We have an existing community of developers creating new features and adding new functionality to GLOO and the HomePod, and actively encourage others to join us to invent the future."

UPnP is a certification mark of the UPnP Implementers Corp.
