GLOO PLATFORM VALIDATED TO MEET INTEL'S
INTEROPERABILITY GUIDELINES

Palo Alto, CA, June 21, 2004 - GlooLabs, a software company focused on the distribution of multimedia content around wired and wireless networks, today announced that its GLOO middleware platform has received Intel® Networked Media Product Requirements (Intel® NMPR) Validation for Media Server Control Points.

The Intel NMPR program is an existing set of development guidelines for use in building digital home products that define common usage models and an interoperability framework delivering the best experience in connecting devices to Intel-based platforms. Since the current Intel NMPR comprehends the standards under development by the Digital Home Working Group (DHWG), the products built today can be designed to conform to DHWG guidelines through simple firmware updates. DHWG is focused on delivering an interoperability framework of design guidelines based on open industry standards to complete the cross-industry digital convergence.

The current Intel NMPR Validation requirements focus entirely on network interoperability and reference more than 40 industry specifications. GlooLabs recognizes the need for UPnP AV-based interoperability to enable the transparent connectivity and sharing of content between devices on a home network. This seamless interaction between devices will strengthen the future of the digital home for consumers.

"GlooLabs delivers specification-based solutions that support interoperability among devices, as demonstrated by their interest in achieving Intel NMPR Validation," said Bill Leszinske, Director, Digital Home Marketing and Planning, Intel's Desktop Platforms Group. "We developed the Intel NMPR program to ensure that digital media devices meet a set of requirements so they will be compatible and will seamlessly connect with PCs and other devices"

"Our vision of the future includes maximum interoperability so that consumers have a choice of connecting standards-based products to facilitate distribution of their multimedia content," said David Arfin, CEO of GlooLabs. "We are pleased that an industry leader like Intel has taken steps in setting development guidelines for interoperability between digital media devices and PCs, and we look forward to working with them to support the next generation of multimedia distribution products for the digital home."

Gloolabs' software technology, GLOO, allows digital media stored on a computer or media server to be accessed through any GLOO-enabled hardware device on the network. GLOO binds together software, hardware and services providing a flexible, powerful, environment that gives hardware manufacturers rapid entry into the digital convergence market. GLOO is Java-based, making it the only middleware solution that is interoperable with multiple operating systems and easily portable to different hardware platforms.

The first product to incorporate GLOO is the award-winning HomePod™, by MacSense Connectivity (www.macsense.com). HomePod is a network audio player that allows users to enjoy their own music and Internet radio from anywhere in the house. HomePod awards include: Popular Mechanics CES Editor's Choice, COMDEX Best of Show Finalist, and ElectronicaUSA Best of Show for Consumer Electronics Devices.

GlooLabs has also created an active developer community for GLOO. Developers interested in modifying GLOO or the functionality of the HomePod, can download the GLOO source code and develop new features, modify UI, and create new applications. The GLOO source code and GLOO SDK can be downloaded at http://developer.gloolabs.com/.
