GLOOLABS COLLABORATES WITH INTEL TO PROVIDE CONSUMERS SEAMLESS AND EASY ACCESS TO DIGITAL CONTENT REMOTELY
PALO ALTO, CA, June 22, 2006 — GlooLabs today announced a collaboration with Intel Corporation to enable its GlooNet™ remote access platform on Intel® Viiv™ technology. GlooNet remote access platform enables consumers to remotely access their favorite songs or pictures using playlists and albums without recreating albums or browsing hundreds of songs and photos. Consumers can also securely share pictures and video from home with friends and family without uploading to portals or sending large email attachments.
GlooLabs' GlooNet technology provides a remote access solution that allows consumers to enjoy their personal media content while away from home using Internet-enabled remote devices like laptops and cell phones.
The GlooNet platform communicates with the Content Directory Service delivered by the Intel® Viiv™ technology-based PCs using UPnP to remotely provide consumers seamless and easy access to their content. Intel and GlooLabs plan to continue to work together to enable additional remote access features and optimizations for Intel Viiv technology.
GlooLabs licenses its GlooNet technology to network operators, services providers, and manufactures who want to integrate remote access or place-shifting features into their products and services. The GlooNet solution, in conjunction with the capabilities provided by the Intel Viiv platform, enables manufacturers and service providers the unique ability to rapidly deploy new services that let consumers enjoy their personal multimedia content from anywhere.
"We are delighted to work with Intel to help service providers and manufacturers accelerate place-shifting for accessing and sharing personal media," said David Arfin, CEO of GlooLabs. "The Intel Viiv platform creates an easy way for consumers and business partners to extend their reach from the digital home to the digital life."
"Intel Viiv technology provides consumers access to their entertainment any time, anywhere, and on multiple devices," said Kevin Corbett, vice-president, Digital Home Group and general manager of Content Services Group. "Intel will continue to work with companies like GlooLabs to make this vision a reality and enable the content experience throughout the home and outside the home."
The GlooNet remote access solution on Intel Viiv technology is demonstrated at Intel Tech Pavilion & Box Office, located at 1087 Broxton Avenue during the Los Angeles Film Festival from June 22-July 3, 2006.
