GLOOLABS LAUNCHES NEW PHOTO SHARING SERVICE
PALO ALTO, California, November 7, 2005 - GlooLabs, Inc. today announced a new photo sharing service as part of its GlooNet remote access platform. The GlooNet Photo Sharing Service allows wireless carriers, ISP’s, cable operators, and online photo services to offer their users secure, remote access to their personal photo collections stored on one’s home personal computer from any remote PC, PDA or mobile phone. The GlooNet platform also allows users to share photos with friends and family without having to upload photos to a third party Web-based photo service.
The explosion of digital photos has created an unprecedented opportunity to share personal photo albums with family and friends. However, the painful process of uploading or emailing large photo files is often frustrating and time-consuming. GlooNet was created to provide partners with a rapidly deployable, white-label service to increase customer satisfaction and ARPU (average revenue per user) by extending their existing products and services.
"GlooNet makes it simple for our business partners to enhance their service offerings by enabling people to easily share their pictures with friends and family all over the world," explained David Arfin, CEO of GlooLabs. "Sharing no longer requires sending bloated emails or waiting for lengthy uploads to Web-based photo services."
The GlooNet Photo Service is easy to integrate into virtually any Web-based or mobile service offering, and can be customized for service partners. The shared photos can be browsed as thumbnails or viewed as a full-screen slideshow from any browser. Users can even download the full image file if they want to add photos to their own collection – a feature unavailable with the leading Web-based photo services.
The GlooNet photo service is part of the GlooNet remote access platform for digital media such as personal music, video, and documents. A public GlooNet demonstration site, including both audio and photo capabilities, is available to prospective partners and consumers at www.gloonet.com. GlooNet is available for Windows and Macintosh systems. Potential customers can also see a demonstration of GlooNet at the 3G Congress in Hong Kong from November 16 -18, 2005 in the Siemens Acceleration booth (#2026).
